Walk Glastonbury Tor

Glastonbury Tor is one of Somerset’s most iconic landmarks. This striking hill rises above the Somerset Levels and is topped by the remains of St Michael’s Church, a 14th-century tower that adds to its dramatic silhouette. The climb is part of the experience: the most direct route from Wellhouse Lane is about half a mile and takes roughly 20–30 minutes, while a gentler path from Dod Lane is around a mile. Both are steep but manageable for most visitors, and the reward at the top is spectacular  - panoramic views stretching across Somerset and beyond.

There’s no parking at the Tor itself, so visitors should use nearby car parks in Glastonbury town, such as Draper & Co on Chilkwell Street or St Dunstan’s Car Park, and then walk 15–20 minutes to the base. Combine your visit with Glastonbury Abbey or Chalice Well for a full day of history, legend, and stunning scenery.
